Shuttle & Chatham Area Transit (CAT) Bus Services
Savannah State University has a true Savannah trolley shuttle that rides around campus to support of SSU's mission to provide a safe and stable environment.
On-Campus Shuttle (Route 80)
The on-campus Shuttle runs from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, on class days in the semester. Please allow 20-30 minutes during the time there is one shuttle, depending on weather and traffic on campus. Please read your campus e-mail for updates on outages or major delays.
Livingston Avenue Shuttle (Route 80L)
This shuttle runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the semester. The route goes from the Student Union to the Marine Sciences building on Livingston Ave, and returns by coming down Jasmine Ave. There are stops near a connection with Route 31, as well as at 500 Jasmine Ave.
CAT Routes Near Campus
CAT routes 31 and 12 both stop near campus. Visit Chatham Area Transit for more information on routes, how to transfer buses, and information on the CatchACAT app to track the bus.
CAT Zero-Fare Pilot Program
Starting January 2024, CAT is implementing a Zero Fare Program for all students in Chatham County. This is for fixed routes only. With this program, students can show their CAT Bus Pass or SSU ID Card to the CAT bus operator for free entry. Students can pickup their CAT Bus Pass at CAT's Student Service Office.
