Vaccine Incentives

Savannah State University is committed to providing a safe and healthy campus environment.

To help achieve this goal, Savannah State will provide an incentive to students, faculty, and staff to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

HOW IT WORKS

Faculty, staff, and students who become fully vaccinated between August 26 and October 30, 2021, will receive $50 in Savannah state Tiger Flex Dollars and a $100 bookstore gift card. Additionally, offers for students who become fully vaccinated during this time include a prize package totaling $150, tickets to events, and other incentive items.

Each student and employee may only receive one $50 SSU Tiger Flex Dollars, one $100 bookstore gift card, one $150 student prize package, one $50 bookstore gift card, and one $1000 cash award. The dining dollars, gift cards, and cash awards are considered taxable to employees.

A HEALTHY COMPETITION

Each campus residence hall with the highest vaccination rate and the residence hall with the highest percentage of complete vaccinations during August 26 and October 30, 2021 will receive a $50.00 bookstore gift card for each fully vaccinated resident.

The timeframe for the COVID incentive program is August 26 through October 30, 2021.

RANDOM WEEKLY DRAWING FOR $1000

As an additional incentive, the University will conduct a weekly random drawing by email for 10 individual winners fully vaccinated at the time of the drawing. The selected individuals will receive a $1000 student account refund or receive funds by employee payroll. The first drawing will take place on September 10 and will continue for seven additional weeks. Individuals who received their vaccine before August 26 are eligible for the drawing.

ELIGIBILITY FOR INCENTIVES

Only currently enrolled students or full-time, temporary, and part-time faculty and staff currently employed are eligible for the incentive.

Individuals will be eligible for the incentives by receiving their vaccine at the on-campus clinic, at an off-campus location, or by their medical provider. Students who have been vaccinated, or get vaccinated off campus during the program, can be entered into the drawing. Drawing winners will be required to verify their vaccination status by presenting their vaccination cards at the CARES Office or send a copy to VAX2WIN@savannahstate.edu.

You are considered fully vaccinated after one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. To be eligible for incentives, you must receive your final vaccine dose between August 26 and October 30, 2021.
